Not a while ago we reported about Galaxy A5 2017 and A3 2017 that are receiving Oreo software update. Now we can confirm you that the Galaxy A7 2017 has joined this game too. This smartphone has started receiving Oreo firmware in Vietnam. And the update is quite large in size, around 1.3GB, with build number A720FXXU3CRD3. The Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 will receive tons of new features after updating to this latest firmware update. This update brings dual messaging, redefined keyboard, new battery settings and a lot more.

In order to download Galaxy A7 2017 Oreo update, you should try to pull OTA notification manually if it is available in your region. For this, navigate to Settings >> About Phone and there check for software update. If the update is not available in your region and you are not willing to wait, simply load it manually. Here’s how to flash this Galaxy A7 2017 Android 8.0 firmware manually.

Requirement

  • Make sure battery of your device is charged.
  • Create backup of your device (backup everything stored on phone including contacts, messages, and files). You can check this guide to create backup.
  • Download Odin on your computer (the official Samsung firmware flasher).

Install Official Android 8.0 Firmware on Galaxy A7

Step One: Download the Galaxy A7 2017 Android 8.0 firmware from here (this firmware is released in Russia but you can flash on any A7 with A720F model).

CSC: A720FOLB3CRD3
Model: SM-A720F
OS: Android 8.0.0 Oreo

Step Two: Extract the downloaded file into a folder on computer. You may use desktop to use that folder.

Step Three: Power off phone and boot it into download mode (boot pressing down Bixby + volume down + power buttons). Wait until your phone fully enter in download mode.

Step Four: Run the Odin on PC.

Step Five: Locate firmware files on Odin now. Press BL button to locate file starting with BL, then press AP button to locate its file, then CP, and HOME_CSC. Once files are loaded, go ahead.

Step Six: Hit start button and wait until installation is finished.
