The international Galaxy S7 edge has now started receiving the Android 8.0 firmware update but by phases. The GS7 edge is a powerful phone which appeal with eye-catching design and hefty power. This waterproof handset, packed with faster equipment, running on impressive Samsung-made software. The new update adds even Samsung Experience UI 9.0 that bring a wide range of new features. Experience version 9.0 adds an improved keyboard (laptop-style keyboard) for better typing. It does bring hybrid messaging support too. The edge panel is also enhanced with new lighting. You get new lighting effects for alerting on different points. There is a lot more including new battery settings, better security functions, improved notification panel and more.

So how to grab the Galaxy S7 edge Oreo firmware quickly? The company is rolling out the firmware by regions, so it might not be available to everyone quickly. But if you cannot wait, you can install the OTA manually on your phone and here’s how to do this.


  • Make sure battery of your device is charged.
  • Create backup of your device (backup everything stored on phone including contacts, messages, and files). You can check this guide to create backup.
  • Download Odin on your computer (the official Samsung firmware flasher).

Install Official Android 8.0 Firmware on Galaxy S7 edge

Step One: Download the Galaxy S7 Android 8.0 firmware from here (This is UK firmware but you can flash on any S7 edge with G935F model).

Firmware Details:
Model: SM-G935F
OS: Android 8.0.0 Oreo

Step Two: Extract the downloaded file into a folder on computer. You may use desktop to use that folder.

Step Three: Power off phone and boot it into download mode (boot pressing down Bixby + volume down + power buttons). Wait until your phone fully enter in download mode.

Step Four: Run the Odin on PC.

Step Five: Locate firmware files on Odin now. Press BL button to locate file starting with BL, then press AP button to locate its file, then CP, and HOME_CSC. Once files are loaded, go ahead.

Step Six: Hit start button and wait until installation is finished.
