The Samsung Galaxy J8 is a decent handset for a normal price tag. It has a 6” HD+ display (the popular infinity display) under a little eye-catching design. Samsung’s J8 offers you a dual camera setup on rear side and a powerful 16MP sensor on front side. Plus, the phone has a fingerprint sensor on its back. Now, the company is updating the handset to latest software version. The Galaxy J8 Android Pie update is rolling out to users which offers you Samsung’s One UI.

Go to Settings >> About phone and check for software updates to grab Samsung One UI update. More, you can here flash the Galaxy J8 Android 9 Pie update manually with Odin.


  • Charge the battery of your phone.
  • Create backup of your device (backup everything stored on phone including contacts, messages, and files). You can check this guide to create backup.
  • Download Odin on your computer (the official Samsung firmware flasher) from here.

Install Official Android 9 Pie Firmware on Galaxy J8

Step One: Download Galaxy J8 Android Pie One UI firmware from here (you can flash it on any J8). Before downloading the firmware, must take care of model number. If you are using J810F, download file from here. If you have J8 J810G, download the update here and if you have J810Y, you can grab it here.

Step Two: Extract the downloaded file into a folder on computer. You may use desktop to use that folder.

Step Three: Power off phone and boot it into download mode (boot pressing down volume down + power buttons). Wait until your phone fully enter in download mode.

Step Four: Run the Odin on PC.

Step Five: Locate firmware files on Odin now. Press BL button to locate file starting with BL, then press AP button to locate its file, then CP, and HOME_CSC. Once files are loaded, go ahead.

Step Six: Hit start button and wait until installation is finished.
